Job summary

Topstep is seeking a GL Accountant to support the monthly close process across lease accounting, expense processing, and bank uploads. You will work closely with the GL Manager to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to close deadlines within a collaborative accounting team.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of accounting experience, familiarity with ASC 842 lease accounting, and proficiency in Excel. NetSuite experience and Emburse use are preferred, with opportunities to grow within a

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 1-3 years of accounting experience with month-end close and GL reconciliations.
• Familiarity with ASC 842 lease accounting preferred.
• Experience with Emburse expense management preferred.
• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong communicator who collaborates effectively.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly close across defined GL areas (lease accounting, expense processing, bank uploads).
• Maintain lease schedules and prepare monthly journal entries per ASC 842.
• Reconcile right-of-use assets and lease liabilities monthly.
• Process expense reports and reconcile corporate credit card transactions.
• Perform daily/monthly bank transaction uploads and ensure accurate coding.
• Prepare reconciliations for all assigned areas and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare audit schedules and support requests; ensure audit-ready documentation.
• Identify process improvements and leverage NetSuite for system enhancements.
