Job summary

Merjent, Inc. is seeking a Pipeline/HDD Design Engineer with gas transmission and distribution project experience to join our team.

You will design, analyze, and oversee HDD and pipeline projects, develop detailed plans and specifications, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards across engagements. This full-time role can be based anywhere in the US and offers a salary range of $125,900 to $207,000 annually with bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or mechanical engineering.
• 5+ years in gas engineering with HDD and pipeline design.
• PE license preferred but not required.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience with pipeline engineering software.
• Strong MS Office (Excel/Word/Outlook).
• Strong interpersonal and team-work abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and oversee the implementation of pipeline projects for natural gas transmission and distribution.
• Conduct feasibility studies, including route selection, material specification, and cost estimation.
• Develop detailed engineering plans, drawings, and specifications for pipeline construction and maintenance projects.
• Develop detailed HDD plan/profile, site specific, and inadvertent return response and contingency plans.
• Develop technical subsurface exploration, hydrofracture analysis, feasibility, and design contingency plan reports.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project compliance and success.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements for safety, quality, and environmental protection.
• Stay current with regulatory changes within the utility and natural gas sectors.
