American Red Cross is seeking a proactive Fundraising Communications & Enablement Director. This fully remote role can be located anywhere in the USA, offering leadership over fundraising messaging and materials that advance donor engagement and organizational growth.

You will collaborate across departments and with external partners to develop donor-focused strategies, evaluate messaging effectiveness, and implement creative solutions that improve fundraising outcomes while maintaining ARC

Qualifications

• Experience leading and developing communications teams.
• Strong storytelling and content development skills.
• Background supporting fundraising, philanthropy, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations.
• Ability to influence senior executives and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Excellent written, verbal, and strategic communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop comprehensive communications plans for fundraising initiatives.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of communications professionals.
• Partner with senior executives to ensure consistent messaging across initiatives.
• Utilize storytelling strategies to support fundraising efforts.
• Collaborate with national and regional marketing teams to develop campaigns.
• Manage complex, large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
• Create and oversee communications content, including: Talking points; Key messages; Press releases; Social media posts; Newsletter content; FAQs; Product information sheets; Other communication materials.
• Serve as the lead for external communications and public relations activities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners.
• Ensure compliance with American Red Cross communications standards, reputation management practices, and issues management protocols.
• Develop and manage content for: RedCross.org, The Exchange, Red Cross social media platforms
• Support organizational visibility and fundraising success through strategic communications and engagement efforts.
