Job summary

National Seating & Mobility is seeking a Funding Specialist to coordinate with the Division Funding Director and ensure accurate order reviews and timely funding approvals. The role supports PTO gaps and educates staff on payer documentation requirements.

This position operates in a work-from-home environment with periodic office presence; strong communication and leadership are essential to manage cases and partner with physicians, therapists, and RTSs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience related to Durable Medical Equipment and/or Complex Rehab Technology.
• Extensive knowledge of insurance guidelines to secure funding for DME/CR Technology.
• Experience with Mobility Advisor or data management systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; leadership ability.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Customer service oriented.
• Excellent computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and PowerPoint; Excel.
• Ability to manage and develop others remotely.
• Ability to read and interpret business reports and procedures.
• Ability to present information and respond to questions.
• Willingness to learn professional/industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with Funding Director/Management to ensure policy compliance and timely procedures.
• Reviews orders for accuracy and educates Funding Specialists on errors.
• Manages transaction cycle time from Coding and Pricing Complete to Documentation Complete.
• Supports Funding Specialist during PTO/LOA/FMLA and vacancies.
• Communicates with referral sources, physicians, therapists, RTS, and clients for required documentation.
• Meets quality follow-up frequency and escalates as needed per policy.
• Gathers and reviews funding documentation and deferrals (LMN, AOB, etc.).
• Verifies insurance coverage and explains benefits to clients.
• Maintains remote team guidance and performance discussions.
