Job summary

Obsidian in the United States is seeking a part-time, remote Investment Operations Analyst to support self-contained operations exercises from mock files and deliver analyst artifacts. The role is US-based and paid hourly, approximately 15 hours per week, with a pay rate of $75-110 per hour.

You will reconcile ledgers with custodians, attribute NAV movements, investigate trade breaks, and manage corporate-action events with precise attention to accuracy and documentation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in fund administration or investment operations.
• Hands-on with reconciliations, NAV, trade breaks, corporate actions, or payment/settlement exceptions; strong Excel.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile ledgers vs custodian/bank statements, isolate residual differences, and produce signed-off reconciliations with adjusting entries.
• Attribute NAV movements, flag components outside tolerance, and write the variance commentary.
• Investigate trade breaks between systems, identify root cause, classify the break, and draft the investigation narrative.
• Process corporate-action events and compute entitlements; handle payment/transfer exceptions; map descriptors to a registry.
