Job summary

Obsidian is seeking an investment operations analyst for reconciliations, NAV attribution, and trade-break investigations in a remote, part-time role (~15 hrs/week). You’ll reconcile ledgers against custodian statements, isolate residual differences, and produce signed-off adjustment entries.

You'll also compute entitlements from corporate actions and handle payment/settlement exceptions, using strong Excel to support accurate narratives and deliverables. Pay is $75–$110/hr, US-based.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in fund administration or investment operations (fund accounting, reconciliations, corporate actions, trade support / middle office, or payment operations) at a fund administrator, custodian, asset manager, or bank ops.
• Hands-on with reconciliations, NAV, trade breaks, corporate actions, or payment / settlement exceptions; strong Excel.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile ledgers vs custodian / bank statements; isolate and explain residual differences; produce signed-off reconciliation with adjusting entries.
• Attribute NAV movements, flag components outside tolerance, and write the variance commentary.
• Investigate trade breaks between two systems; identify root cause, classify the break, propose the fix, and draft the investigation narrative.
• Process corporate-action events and compute entitlements per account; handle payment / transfer exceptions (repair / return / elevate); match descriptors to a registry.
