Job summary

GitLab is seeking a Fullstack Engineer on the Duo Client SDK team to build the shared foundation for every GitLab Duo client. You will work in TypeScript across frontend and backend, designing the SDK's Node.js core and public API, with focus on backward compatibility.

You'll own scoped packages, ship improvements with minimal guidance, and collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams on larger architectural changes.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency with TypeScript across frontend and backend.
• Experience building and maintaining Node.js services.
• Experience with Vue 3 and Composition API or similar frontend work.
• Ability to design reusable APIs for external consumers.
• Understanding of running code in Node.js and browser environments.
• Security-minded development and performance optimization.
• Clear written communication in an agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop secure, well-tested TypeScript features for moderate scope problems.
• Ship small features with minimal guidance, write tests, and review code.
• Extract and publish TypeScript packages from the Language Server as SDK components.
• Design durable public APIs with versioning, changelogs, and deprecation paths.
• Build isomorphic core packages with platform-specific adapters at edges.
• Develop SDK client surfaces, including Vue 3 components in Duo Chat.
• Strengthen credential handling and optimize bundle size and performance.
