Job summary

Optomi, in partnership with a leading transportation and logistics organization, is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to support the modernization and development of large-scale enterprise applications.

This role targets hands-on engineers with strong Java, Spring Boot, Angular, AWS, and distributed systems experience, focusing on cloud-native development, legacy modernization, and reliable production deployments within a fully remote United States environment.

Qualifications

• 8-11 years of professional software development experience preferred.
• Strong hands-on Java and Spring Boot development experience.
• Experience developing frontend applications using Angular.
• AWS experience, including services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, ECS, EKS, SNS, SQS, or DynamoDB.
• Experience modernizing legacy monolithic applications into microservices.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jenkins, or similar technologies.
• Experience developing and deploying production applications in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, OpenShift, or containerized application deployments.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and AWS.
• Modernize legacy applications and contribute to the development of cloud-native microservices.
• Build and maintain REST APIs and integrations across distributed systems.
• Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines to streamline application deployment.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on system design, scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and implement sustainable engineering solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural planning.
