Dimagi is seeking a full-stack software engineer to contribute to CommCare and related projects. The role emphasizes building features with modern practices, collaborating globally, and delivering user-friendly software for frontline workers in challenging environments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software development experience.
• Proven background in building quality software for the web.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work autonomously and prioritize competing tasks.
• Familiarity with Python, Django, Postgres, Elasticsearch, JavaScript, Alpine.js, HTMX, CSS, Bootstrap and HTML.
• Experience with AI-assisted coding tools (Claude Code).
• Enthusiasm about working in public health and international development.
• Familiarity with open-source technology (bonus).
• Experience with data engineering.

Responsibilities

• Build new features using modern best practices and CI.
• Collaborate with multicultural development and implementation teams.
• Create software usable by groups facing challenges in remote locations.
• Work as part of a team to deliver product features and functionality.
• Participate in agile processes, code reviews, and release testing.
