Job summary

Roo is hiring a Full Stack Engineer II to join our veterinary marketplace engineering team. In this mid-level role, you’ll design, build, and maintain features powering Roo’s platform, collaborating across product, design, data, and engineering to deliver scalable solutions.

You’ll own features end-to-end, mentor junior engineers, and drive architectural improvements in a remote-first environment with occasional SF travel.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of professional Software Engineer experience.
• Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Mobile development experience with React Native or similar.
• Experience with Node.js, Express, AWS and relational databases.
• Skilled at writing complex SQL queries.
• CS degree or relevant field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product, design, data and engineers to deliver robust solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain features across the stack with scalable architecture.
• Write clean, well-documented code for React Native app and backend services.
• Lead by example with code reviews and mentoring of juni or engineers.
• Own testing lifecycle with unit tests and end-to-end tests.
• Investigate production issues and improve observability and reliability.
