Job summary

Reddit is seeking a Software Engineer to help build the next version of its media web experience. You will focus on the web media player and the APIs that power it, delivering seamless, low-latency playback and interactive tools for creators and users.

Design end-to-end fullstack solutions with React/TypeScript on the frontend and Go/Python on the backend; review code, mentor juniors, and collaborate with product and design to improve performance for a global audience.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 3+ years of software development experience in Go, Python, Rust or Ruby.
• Proficiency in modern web development technologies (JavaScript, React, Next.js, TypeScript).
• Experience designing APIs with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, or gRPC.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to deliver on schedule.
• Excellent communication skills in a fully remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own the web media player UI (React/TypeScript) and backend APIs (Go/Python).
• Collaborate with product, design, and other engineers to ship features.
• Design end-to-end fullstack solutions with performance in mind.
• Review code and design docs, mentor junior engineers.
• Improve performance of media delivery globally and enhance developer workflows.
