Location: Remote

Est. Hourly Salary: $27.00 - $35.00

Job Type: Full-time/Part-time/Contract

Responsible for being the first point of contact for patients, staff, and guests presenting at the clinic, and performing all the administrative tasks associated with patient check-in.

Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for opening front office and all duties associated with this function.
  2. Welcome, greet, and assist patients in a courteous and professional manner.
  3. As directed, schedule patient appointments accurately and efficiently utilizing the computer system.
  4. Verify and ensure completeness of patient registration documentation. Verify and enter patient data into the electronic medical system.
  5. Review and verify patient coverage of insurance information using online resources.
  6. Explain payment options, including sliding scale fees, Medicare, Medicaid, and other forms of payment assistance.
  7. As directed, responsible for running Vital Interaction reports and following up on appointments needing to be confirmed and no-shows.
  8. Work closely with the nursing, provider, medical assistant, and extended care teams to ensure smooth patient flow and reduce cycle time.
  9. Assist with closing gaps in care by notifying patients of services due.
  10. Notify appropriate personnel of emergencies, messages, patient arrivals, etc.
  11. Accurately document and communicate patient concerns to the site triad leadership team.
  12. Work assigned hours and as needed outside regular hours, including weekends.
  13. Participate in meetings and trainings; adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  14. Maintain confidentiality of all patient, clinical, and company information, adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  15. Perform all duties ethically in line with the I Promise statement.
  16. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of
  • Healthcare office concepts, practices, policies, and procedures
  • Insurance verification procedures
  • Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • HIPAA and Joint Commission guidelines and regulations

  • Verbal and written communication, including telephone and email etiquette
  • Working independently in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team

Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Diploma or Equivalent
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: At least one year in an administrative role.
