Job description

Lara Health is currently in search of a (preferably) bilingual (English/Spanish) Medical Assistant for our Remote Patient Monitoring program, to join our lovely care team and provide patients with care virtually. This is a full-time position (min 30 hours a week). Must be US territory based.


COMPENSATION: $20/hour, plus performance bonuses, contract


THIS IS A FULLY REMOTE POSITION THAT REQUIRES MIN 5 YEAR EXPERIENCE IN CARING FOR CHRONIC CONDITION PATIENTS (PREFERABLY IN PRIMARY CARE/DIABETES/CARDIOLOGY/GERIATRICS)


Join us for the chance to be part of an amazing team and a great place to work! The Medical Assistant assists providers with ongoing patient monitoring and chronic care management, with the following duties:


  1. Responsible for monitoring patient blood pressure, blood sugar, and other vitals, helping them with medications, and keeping MD visits.
  2. Communicate with patients on a regular basis, helping them make lifestyle changes in order to improve their long-term health.
  3. Maintain patient electronic medical record (EMR).
  4. Perform other duties as assigned.

Specific skills and experience required:


  1. Passion for working with (older) patients, customer service skills.
  2. Min 5 years experience as a MA or nurse.
  3. Preventative patient care background preferred, experience in primary care, cardiology, or diabetes clinic highly desired.
  4. Work independently and with a team.
  5. Organizational and time management skills.
  6. Computer skills appropriate to position; you will need your own computer and a reliable internet service.
  7. Written and verbal communication skills, administrative and clerical skills, critical thinking.
  8. Medical terminology use and understanding.

Certification & Licensure mandatory:


  1. Approved Medical Assistant Certification required.
  2. Or EMT (Emergency Medical Technician).
  3. Or NREMT (Nationally Recognized Emergency Medical Technician).
  4. Or Paramedic.
  5. Or LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse).

Education:


  1. Required High School or Equivalent.
  2. Preferred Technical Medical Assistant (Certification required).

This position would be ideal for someone looking to work intensively with patients and who is well organized and able to commit to a min 30 hours a week. You must be bubbly and well spoken as 90% of the work is speaking with patients on the phone.


The role is contract-based and doesn't offer benefits. Some flexibility in regards to working hours (Mon-Fri).
