Job summary

South is seeking a hands-on Freight Operations & Sales Specialist for a hybrid role supporting a U.S. box truck brokerage.

You will coordinate shipments from pickup to delivery, drive proactive outbound sales, and build profitable freight lanes while maintaining strong shipper and carrier relationships. You’ll report to the Operations Lead, work 8:00 AM–5:00 PM EST, Monday–Friday, and optimize backhaul utilization with a target above 90%.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in U.S. freight brokerage, 3PL, or trucking operations.
• Proven experience in proactive cold calling, outbound sales and lane development.
• Hands-on experience coordinating shipments and handling daily ops.
• Advanced English proficiency for direct U.S. client interaction.
• Track record of achieving backhaul utilization and weekly volume goals.
• Ability to report to leadership and work independently in a fast-paced env.

Responsibilities

• Sales & Lane Development: outbound calling and lead generation to build shipper relationships and lanes.
• Inbound & Client Engagement: follow up on inquiries, respond to quotes, manage communications.
• Volume & Capacity Growth: drive carrier growth to target weekly volume across multiple carriers.
• Backhaul Optimization: sell and secure return loads to exceed 90% backhaul fill.
• Operations & Execution: coordinate daily freight progress with drivers and U.S. clients.
• Documentation & Systems: prepare rate confirmations, BOLs, PODs, and CRM/TMS records.
