Job summary

PaymentWorks, Inc. is seeking a Fraud Operations Analyst to identify, investigate, and prevent fraudulent activity in vendor onboarding and payments.

You will review vendor registrations and payments flagged for risk, using investigative judgment to determine next steps and improve processes. You will collaborate across teams, maintain thorough notes for audit readiness, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment while communicating clearly with vendors and partners.

Qualifications

• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to research information and connect data points to assess risk.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for documenting findings.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with Accounts Payable, ACH payments, or vendor risk assessment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth fraud reviews to identify suspicious vendor registrations and assess potential risk indicators
• Review incoming payment batches flagged for risk; research, document, and determine appropriate next steps
• Review and document cases flagged for potential fraud risk, escalating findings for further investigation and process improvement
• Communicate with vendors and partners via phone to verify information and resolve discrepancies
• Maintain detailed, accurate notes to ensure full visibility and compliance with audit standards
• Consistently meet time-sensitive deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
