Job summary

Atomic Vest is hiring a part-time Financial Operations Analyst, Tax to manage 2026 end-customer tax withholding and information reporting for our FINRA-registered broker-dealer. You will collaborate with the CEO, FinOp, and cross-functional teams to establish reporting structures using InteliClear and FIS.

The role is remote-based in the US or LATAM, roughly 20 hours weekly from late October 2026 through April 2027, with heavier hours during peak filing periods and year-end reporting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in tax operations, tax information reporting, and withholding at a broker-dealer, bank, custodian, or fintech (withholding agent).
• Working knowledge of IRS withholding and information reporting rules (Chapters 3, 4, and 61), including Forms W‑8, W‑9, 1099, and 1042‑S.
• Experience reconciling large data sets and resolving discrepancies; advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Own overall coordination of 2026 end-customer tax reporting and withholding for brokerage accounts, including backup withholding and NRA withholding under FATCA and treaty rates.
• Review and validate end-customer W-9 and W-8 tax documentation and withholding and reporting treatment.
• Reconcile withheld tax to customer activity and the general ledger; coordinate with FinOp for timely IRS deposits.
