How To MANAGE a Small Law Firm is seeking an experienced Fractional Controller to help solo law firm owners understand their numbers, improve profitability, and make smarter financial decisions. You’ll advise a roster of 40 clients as part of a Fractional Executive Team of CEOs, COOs, CFOs, and Controllers.

Remote | Full-Time position with some evening availability and travel. Compensation from $110,000 to $145,000, reflecting base pay, roster-based earnings, and bonuses.

Qualifications

• Controller or senior-level accounting/finance experience.
• Strong financial analysis, forecasting, KPI, and dashboard experience.
• Proven results improving profitability, cash flow, or expenses.
• Experience managing teams or client relationships.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain financials simply.
• Small business or entrepreneurial experience strongly preferred.
• Professional services or law firm experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly 1:1 financial strategy calls with clients.
• Analyze financial statements, KPIs, profitability, and cash flow.
• Build and interpret financial dashboards.
• Prepare short-term cash flow forecasts and identify risks.
• Turn financial data into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Coach clients toward stronger financial habits and accountability.
