Job summary

BELAY, Inc. is seeking a Controller for its Financial Solutions team.

The role is remote within the United States and focuses on serving as a trusted advisor to small and mid-sized clients, guiding financial decisions, and ensuring accurate and compliant reporting. The Controller collaborates with senior accountants and CFOs, leads client reviews, and drives process improvements while supporting firm-wide growth and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business.
• 6-8 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong Controller-level expertise, including explaining financial statements, interpreting KPIs and understanding forecasts and budgets.
• Experience with financial close processes and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, leading financial review calls.
• Provide accounting guidance and subject matter expertise for complex client needs.
• Support workflow coordination and prioritization with leadership.
• Share knowledge and process improvements to support team effectiveness.
• Identify risks and opportunities to support client growth and compliance.
