Job summary

MAP SSG in the United States is seeking a founding backend engineer to build the core platform from ground up for a mobile-first trading product. You will architect, implement, and own backend services handling large data volumes, live market activity, and spikes in traffic.

The ideal candidate has 6–12 years of backend experience, 2–3+ years in crypto, and strong Rust or Go skills along with Solana or EVM indexing.

Qualifications

• 6–12 years of backend engineering experience; 8–12 is ideal.
• 2–3+ years of recent crypto experience.
• Experience building backend systems for a crypto exchange, DEX, wallet, brokerage, trading terminal, or similarly demanding product.
• Strong production expertise in Rust or Go.
• Hands-on experience indexing Solana or EVM on-chain data.
• Experience with WebSockets / real-time data at scale.
• PostgreSQL and AWS or GCP.
• Strong 0-1 ownership and comfort in a small autonomous team.

Responsibilities

• Own the core backend platform from 0-1 to support high-volume, real-time trading activity.
• Architect and implement backend systems for data ingestion, indexing, and caching at scale.
• Lead backend architecture and platform feature development alongside the founder and product lead.
• Collaborate across a small engineering team to ship robust, scalable services.
