Job summary

Van Kaizen Limited in New York City or San Francisco is seeking a Backend Software Engineer with strong production Rust experience to join a small, technically ambitious team. You will own critical systems, build high-performance risk, liquidation and trading components, and develop REST and WebSocket APIs with millisecond response times using Rust, Tokio, and distributed architectures.

On-site, 5 days/week

Comp: $185K–$300K + Equity

Our client is a well-funded, early-stage crypto trading company building high-performance infrastructure for the next generation of digital asset markets.

They’re looking for a Backend Software Engineer with strong production Rust experience who enjoys solving difficult systems problems and wants significant technical ownership.

What you’ll work on:

• Build high-performance risk, liquidation and trading systems
• Build REST and WebSocket APIs with millisecond-level response times
• Work with Rust, Tokio, asynchronous programming, distributed systems and blockchain
• Solve complex problems around concurrency, state management and high-throughput event streams

What we’re looking for:

This is a small, highly technical team backed by$15M+ in funding, where engineers can have significant impact and work directly with experienced founders and senior engineers.
