Job summary

TribalScale is seeking a Forward Deployed Full Stack Engineer with an active US Secret clearance to embed with a US government-facing client. You will build and ship features across front-end, API, data layer, and deployment in secure environments, often within the same week.

You will collaborate with end users and security teams, turning ambiguous needs into working software, and applying AI-enabled approaches while maintaining strict security and governance.

Qualifications

• Active US Secret clearance (or higher) and ability to maintain; US citizenship required.
• 5+ years of professional full stack development delivering production software.
• Strong front-end skills in TypeScript and a modern framework (React preferred).
• Strong back-end in Python, Node.js, Java, or Go with REST/GraphQL.
• Relational DB experience (PostgreSQL) with data modeling and performance.
• Hands-on with containers and CI/CD; Docker required; Kubernetes/OpenShift a plus.
• Cloud experience on AWS, Azure, or GCP; Gov regions a plus.
• Client-facing confidence; able to explain tradeoffs clearly.
• AI-native development habits; using AI coding tools.
• Comfort with ambiguity; able to progress without a full spec.

Responsibilities

• Embed with the client team on site and remotely with end users, product owners, and the client's security teams.
• Build full stack features across front end, back end, data layer, and infrastructure.
• Deploy into secure environments (on-prem, government cloud, or restricted networks).
• Prototype quickly and iterate with users; avoid waiting on a perfect spec.
• Integrate AI within security constraints and with approved models.
• Work with the client's ISSO and compliance teams on authorization requirements.
• Be a bridge back to TribalScale with field insights.
