Job summary

Redpanda is building the Agentic Data Plane for enterprise-grade agent workloads. Forward Deployed Engineers embed with customers to create agents, data pipelines, and integrations in their environment, delivering production-ready solutions on their timelines.

You will ship at customer sites, adapt to new codebases, and hand off well-documented deployments, working closely with the customer’s engineers to ensure reliable, maintainable results.

Qualifications

• 6–10+ years in software eng. and customer-facing roles.
• Built backend systems, data pipelines, APIs or agent systems in production.
• Built agents or integrations with LLM APIs.
• Can read unfamiliar code and extend it without breaking it.
• Excellent customer-facing technical communication.
• Shipped at a customer site or deployment context.

Responsibilities

• Build at the customer site: write production-grade agents and data pipelines in the client environment.
• Work in unfamiliar codebases quickly and adapt to constraints.
• Own the technical deliverable from design to handoff.
• Be the technical voice with the customer engineers daily.
• Document handoffs and train the customer's team for ongoing maintenance.
• Capture learnings and feed them back to product and engineering.
