Job summary

S27a is hiring our first Forward Deployed Engineer to sit between our customers, our sales lead, and our engineering team. You'll own the customer-facing side of product development: understanding what healthcare providers actually need, shaping how Clara behaves for each customer, and shipping the changes that make Clara work in the real world.

You'll talk to customers daily, write code when needed, and have direct influence over what we build next.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in roles combining engineering with customer-facing work.
• Ability to ship features and review PRs in TS/Node.js.
• Strong written and verbal communication with cross-functional teams.
• Track record of identifying product gaps from stakeholder conversations.
• Self-directed with minimal oversight across teams.

Responsibilities

• Support customer relationships post-sale as a technical contact.
• Translate stakeholder needs into product with engineering collaboration.
• Ship customer-specific changes through per-customer strategy files.
• Drive product improvements with broad exposure to customers and teams.
• Support implementation including onboarding and go-live coordination.
• Improve operations by building internal tooling and runbooks.
