Job summary

Procore Technologies is seeking a Staff Forward Deployed AI Engineer to design, implement, and deploy AI systems for enterprise customers. You will work with the Customer Success Team and partner with client engineering to operationalize AI agents in field deployments.

The role emphasizes hands-on ML system development, customer-facing delivery, and a strong software engineering foundation, with up to 50% travel to client sites across the United States.

Qualifications

• Experience building and shipping solutions with large language models (LLMs) and a deep practical understanding of the generative AI landscape (prompting, tool integration, evaluation, and retrieval).
• Strong foundation in machine learning fundamentals, including evaluation methods, model training/fine-tuning principles, and complex problem decomposition.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Machine Learning, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-impact AI implementation projects in small pods or independently, taking full technical ownership from discovery through to production deployment.
• Build and scale LLM-powered agentic workflows and production data pipelines tailored to enterprise construction operations.
• Partner directly with enterprise customers to evaluate operational challenges, understand technical requirements, and define their AI implementation strategy.
• Drive measurable financial and operational value for customers by implementing real-world solutions that reduce risk and increase efficiency.
• Travel up to 50% or more to client sites to lead onsite technical workshops, customer embeds, and field deployments.
