Job summary

IllTip is seeking a remote security engineer to design, deploy and support Fortinet-based protections for enterprise and government clients. You will join a network security practice focused on zero-trust segmentation and repeatable operations.

The role requires hands-on Fortinet experience, strong networking knowledge, policy and VPN configuration skills, NSE4 or higher, and clear written and verbal communication; US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Fortinet products.
• Strong networking fundamentals including subnetting, NAT, and routing protocols.
• Experience creating firewall policies and VPN configurations.
• Fortinet NSE 4 or higher certification required before hire.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills; comfortable with AI tools.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and support Fortinet-based security solutions across FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer and FortiSwitch.
• Build and maintain firewall policies, IPSec and SSL VPNs, SD-WAN configurations and UTM profiles.
• Use centralized management tools to deploy policy across multiple firewalls and clients.
• Analyze logs, produce reports, and perform routine health checks, upgrades and audits.
• Troubleshoot network and security issues across multiple client environments.
• Produce clear configuration records, diagrams and SOPs; advise clients on security best practices.
