Job summary

Sterling is seeking a Remote United States Network Consultant to support federal customers in assessment, design, deployment, and optimization of Fortinet-based network infrastructure. Responsibilities include working with customers, sales teams, vendor partners, and Sterling engineers to deliver mission-aligned security solutions for DoD, IC, and other public sector environments.

Qualifications

• Must have Federal Civilian, DoD, IC, or public sector experience.
• Hands-on Fortinet product expertise with Fortinet Security Fabric.
• Ability to design, implement, and troubleshoot secure federal networks.
• Experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, Dell, VMware, Microsoft, Red Hat is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery sessions with federal customers to capture mission requirements.
• Develop Fortinet-based designs aligned with federal operating environments.
• Configure, deploy, validate, and optimize Fortinet solutions across firewall, VPN, SD-WAN, and segmentation.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues across routing, switching, and Fortinet integrations.
• Create implementation plans, migration guides, diagrams, and knowledge-transfer materials.
