Job summary

National Forest Foundation seeks a full-time Forest Recovery Program Manager to lead complex restoration projects in the Southern Appalachians. You will coordinate with US Forest Service, partners, and contractors, managing planning, implementation, and reporting.

The role requires 4+ years in forestry or restoration, strong collaboration skills, and experience with contracts, budgeting, and GIS. Remote work with travel to field sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in conservation, forestry, ecology, natural resource management, planning, landscape design, environmental science, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in forestry, ecological restoration, or conservation program management.
• Strong writing and public speaking skills; ability to work with diverse partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead forest recovery and reforestation program planning and implementation in the Southern Appalachians.
• Manage funding, contracts, budgets, and reporting across multiple partners and agencies.
• Supervise staff as needed and coordinate with US Forest Service and other partners.
• Facilitate collaborative planning and stakeholder engagement to advance restoration objectives.
