Salas O0Brien, Inc. is seeking an experienced Forensic Structural Engineer for the Raleigh, NC area. This remote/home-office role conducts investigations into structural damage causes from storms, disasters, and defects, delivering clear conclusions and defensible reports.

Qualifications

• 2+ years forensic engineering experience preferred.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently from a home office.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in NC or eligible by reciprocity.

Responsibilities

• Forensic investigations: site inspections and determine cause and extent of damage.
• Analysis & Reporting: develop conclusions and high-quality reports.
• Client communication: provide updates and manage expectations.
• Collaboration & independence: work from home with internal experts.
• Project ownership: drive issues to resolution meeting standards.
• Continuous improvement: contribute ideas to processes and tools.
