Haag, a Salas O’Brien company, seeks an experienced Forensic Structural Engineer II for the Raleigh, NC area in a remote/home office role. You will investigate and evaluate the cause and extent of structural damage from storms, disasters, fires, defects, and more.

Requirements include a BS in Civil/Structural Engineering, 2+ years of forensic experience, NC PE or reciprocity, strong writing and communication skills, and ability to work independently from home with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years forensic engineering experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and with a cross-functional team.
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent customer service to clients.
• PE license NC or eligible by reciprocity.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections to determine cause/origin/extent of structural damage.
• Develop clear, well-supported conclusions and high-quality technical reports.
• Provide timely, professional updates to clients and stakeholders.
• Work independently from a home office while collaborating with internal experts.
• Drive issues to resolution with stakeholders ensuring standards are met.
