Job summary

Haag, a Salas O’Brien company, is seeking an experienced Forensic Structural Engineer II in the Raleigh, NC area. This remote/home office role investigates structural damage from storms, disasters, construction defects, and other causes.

You will conduct site inspections, develop high‑quality reports, and communicate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders. A P.E. license in NC or reciprocity is required; travel locally and nationally is anticipated.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of forensic engineering experience preferred.
• Must be able to work independently and with cross‑functional colleagues.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service to clients.
• Willingness to travel locally, regionally, and nationally.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections to determine cause/origin/extent of structural damage.
• Develop clear, well‑documented technical reports and deliverables.
• Provide timely updates to clients, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Work independently from a home office while collaborating with internal experts.
• Lead issues to resolution with stakeholders and ensure standards compliance.
• Offer process/tools improvements to enhance customer outcomes.
