Job summary

Rimkus Consulting Group, a worldwide leader in engineering and forensic consulting, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to provide failure analysis for insurance, legal, industrial, and other clients. Will evaluate injury, equipment, and property damage claims arising from mechanical systems such as HVAC, machinery, and plumbing.

You will prepare CAD-based sketches, perform site inspections, analyze data, review codes, and compile written reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or higher.
• PhD or forensic experience with P.E. license required.
• 2–10+ years of experience in machine design, HVAC, plumbing or related.
• Project management or field investigation experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform failure analysis for forensic assignments in mechanical engineering.
• Identify origin, failure mechanism, and root cause of incidents.
• Inspect sites and equipment; perform data retrieval and 3D documentation.
• Review codes, standards, drawings, and manuals for compliance.
• Prepare reports and provide technical guidance; testify when needed.
• Develop and maintain mutually beneficial client relationships.
