Job summary

Rimkus Consulting Group is seeking a remote forensic mechanical engineer with strong analytical skills and PE licensure. Responsibilities include failure analysis, incident investigation, site inspections, data collection, and report preparation.

Qualifications

• B.S. Mechanical Engineering degree or higher.
• P.E. required.
• 2-10+ years of experience in mechanical systems, products, HVAC or fire suppression.
• Project Management and/or Field Investigation experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform failure analysis for forensic assignments within mechanical engineering.
• Investigate origin, failure mechanism and root cause of incidents.
• Inspect sites and equipment; document conditions and perform 3D documentation.
• Prepare reports, budgets, schedules and scopes of work; support client communications.
