Job summary

Rimkus seeks an experienced engineering professional to conduct human-injury and biomechanical analyses within hospital and forensic settings. You will reconstruct accidents, prepare reports, and testify in depositions and court, drawing on biomedical/biomechanical expertise.

The role requires a master's in biomedical or biomechanical engineering (PhD preferred). PE and ACTAR preferred, with up to 25% travel and a path to advancement in a supportive, full-benefits environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum master’s degree in biomedical or biomechanical engineering.
• Ph.D. preferred.
• PE license preferred or obtainable within 1 year.
• ACTAR certification preferred or obtainable within six months.
• 4+ years of biomedical/biomechanical engineering experience with a master’s degree; PhD considered for less experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs human-injury impact analyses of vehicular accidents, mechanical failures, falls, and falling objects.
• Analyzes vehicular accidents, and mechanical failures, and reconstructs vehicular accidents.
• Prepares written reports of findings in clear, concise terms.
• Provides testimony in depositions and the courtroom.
• Conducts human motion and injury analyses.
• Reviews media and records to support conclusions.
• Locates and applies research of pertinent literature and regulations.
• Applies mathematical and empirical methods of analyses.
• Travel up to 25% for site inspections.
