Job summary

Rimkus Consulting Group is seeking a Forensic Biomechanical Engineer in Tampa, FL, to conduct injury analyses and reconstruct incidents in a healthcare setting and beyond. You will prepare written findings and provide testimony in depositions and court, leveraging expertise in biomechanics and forensic engineering.

The role requires a Master’s (PhD preferred) in biomedical/biomechanical engineering, with 4+ years of related experience; PE and ACTAR preferred.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in biomedical or biomechanical engineering; PhD preferred.
  • PE license preferred or able to obtain within 1 year.
  • 4+ years in biomedical/biomechanical engineering with master’s degree; PhD considered.
  • ACTAR certification preferred or able to obtain within six months.

Responsibilities

  • Performs human-injury impact analysis of vehicular accidents, mechanical failures, falls, and falling objects.
  • Analyzes vehicular accidents, mechanical failures, and reconstructs vehicular incidents.
  • Prepares written reports of findings in clear, concise terms.
  • Provides testimony in depositions and the courtroom.
  • Conducts human motion and injury analyses.
  • Analyzes injuries from automobile, industrial, marine, and recreational accidents.
  • Conducts on-site vehicle examinations and writes findings.
  • Reviews photos, statements, reports, and records to reach conclusions.
  • Locates and applies research from literature and regulations.
  • Applies mathematical and empirical methods of analysis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
