Job summary

UtiliSave is seeking a curious, analytical forensics data analyst to join our team focused on utility billing accuracy and refunds for large commercial and industrial clients. You will leverage Python and regulatory knowledge to uncover savings across jurisdictions and prepare compelling claims for utilities and regulators.

As an entry-level role with growth, expect paid onboarding, a rigorous onboarding process, and a path to Senior Analyst roles.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience mastering complex rule-based systems and translating that mastery into actionable opportunities.
• Undergraduate degree completed; STEM, economics, regulatory affairs, or pre-law preferred.
• Python proficiency used daily to extract, clean, and interrogate billing data across client portfolios.
• Experience with a regulated public utility or rate billing analysis is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify cost savings using proprietary tools and recover money for clients.
• Master billing rules, tariff schedules, demand calculations, rider provisions, tax codes, and regulatory frameworks across jurisdictions.
• Conduct retroactive audits to maximize recoverable amounts on client accounts.
• Draft clear, persuasive written claim submissions and regulatory correspondence.
• Collaborate with MIS group to build tools that improve account review and drive revenue.
