Job summary

Airbus U.S. Space & Defense, Inc is seeking a Software Engineer to develop spacecraft flight software with remote opportunities across the United States. Primary duties include upgrading flight software for new missions and contributing to navigation models and software for Airbus U.S.

satellite platforms. You will build in-house tools to analyze flight software performance, support hardware-in-the-loop environments, and collaborate with manufacturing engineers; travel is modest.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM or related scientific areas.
• 0 years minimum experience with a Bachelor's degree.
• Software integration and test in high reliability systems desirable.
• Knowledge of MATLAB and navigational algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Flight Software - upgrade existing flight software for new missions.
• Develop satellite guidance and navigation models/software for Airbus U.S. satellite platforms.
• Develop in-house tools to analyze flight software performance and assess compatibility with missions and ConOps.
• Work with manufacturing engineers to support installation onto hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop test environments and flight hardware.
• Participate in anomaly resolution activities and patch existing flight software.
• Roadmap Development - support spacecraft development product roadmap and integration into code base.
• Includes design adjustments, schedule, and cost targets for future business captures.
• Define spacecraft customization process for customer mission needs.
• Additional Responsibilities - support working groups, proposal writing, and assess software impacts of new hardware, ConOps, and missions.
