Job summary

Lumen is hiring a Fleet Manager to oversee acquisition, servicing, maintenance and disposal of company assets within a U.S. geography. You’ll manage budgets, drive fleet sizing, and coordinate with vendors to ensure safe, reliable assets for business objectives.

This is a work-from-home role with national scope, requiring strong data analysis, policy interpretation, and cross-team collaboration to optimize performance and reduce cost per mile.

Responsibilities

• Manage operating expense and capital budgets to achieve cost-per-mile, utilization, and fleet sizing targets.
• Partner with vehicle- and equipment-using departments to understand operational needs and establish processes that align fleet execution with business objectives.
• Communicate and collaborate with Business Unit leadership, operations management, vendors, contractors, and internal support teams to address fleet issues impacting service delivery.
• Identify and coordinate the recovery of underutilized fleet assets and redeploy/retire/dispose as needed.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, preventive maintenance, DOT and ANSI inspection requirements, safety standards.
• Coordinate with contracted call-center operations to review/authorize repair and maintenance requests; assess vendor performance.
• Monitor fleet asset performance, manage vendor KPIs (cost, repair cycle time, repeat repairs).
• Track and manage fleet warranties and recalls for cost recovery and compliance.
