Job summary

The American Physical Society is seeking a Sales Contract Manager (Publishing) to oversee the contract lifecycle for institutional sales and licensing, ensuring APS policy compliance. You will coordinate with Sales, Sales Operations, Finance and Legal, using CRM systems and AI tools to move deals from proposal to signature.

This remote-first role supports staff nationwide, with travel up to 10% for events and meetings.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of contract management experience.
• Experience at a publishing firm or association preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of scholarly publishing contracts, licensing, and negotiation.
• Proficient data analysis and CRM usage (Salesforce).
• Knowledge of Open Access publishing trends.

Responsibilities

• Oversee contract lifecycle for institutional subscriptions and licensing terms.
• Collaborate with Sales, Sales Operations, Finance and Legal teams.
• Review and negotiate licensing terms and amendments.
• Maintain accurate data in CRM (Salesforce) and monitor licensing workflow.
• Draft licensing agreements and manage licenses for special deals.
• Track expirations and send renewals; maintain clause library for templates.
