Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Manager for the FINT team within FinHub to lead a six-person engineering group and drive the re-architecture of core account and transaction history systems. You will enable new product primitives and ensure reliability at scale across distributed services.

You'll partner with product, finance, and leadership to define quarterly roadmaps, recruit top engineers, and own engineering quality processes, including incident response and on-call practices.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software engineering with at least 2 years in management.
• Experience delivering and operating distributed systems at scale.
• Ability to translate ambiguous, long-horizon technical problems into concrete execution plans.
• Experience with financial systems, event-driven architectures, or high-precision transaction processing.
• Ability to lead teams with backend, streaming, and full-stack tooling.
• Uses Generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of 6 engineers across multiple levels, coaching on technical excellence, career development, and organizational impact.
• Drive the re-architecture of core account and history systems to support new product primitives and higher throughput demands.
• Own the Finhub Tools roadmap, building internal UIs, dashboards, and agentic workflows that accelerate engineering and operations teams across the company.
• Shape architectural decisions across distributed systems, streaming pipelines, and full-stack tooling, fostering a culture of high-quality code and thorough design reviews.
• Collaborate with product, finance, and engineering leadership to define and execute a quarterly roadmap, breaking complex infrastructure projects into iterative milestones.
• Partner with the talent organization to recruit exceptional engineers and own engineering quality processes including SLA accountability, incident response, and on-call practices.
