Job summary

Coinbase is seeking an Engineering Manager for the FINT team within FinHub in the Platform group. You will lead the engineers building the account and transaction history infrastructure that underpins every Coinbase product.

You'll guide your team through re-architecting these foundational systems for scale, while enabling new products like sub-accounts and agentic trading. Collaboration with product and engineering leadership is key to quarterly roadmaps and milestones.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software engineering with at least 2 years of engineering management experience.
• Experience delivering and operating distributed systems at scale in production.
• Ability to translate ambiguous, long-horizon technical problems into actionable plans with milestones.
• Experience with financial systems, event-driven architectures, or high-precision transaction processing.
• Comfort leading teams with backend services, streaming pipelines, and full-stack tooling.
• Uses generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of engineers across multiple levels, coaching on technical excellence and career development.
• Drive the re-architecture of core account and history systems to support new product primitives and throughput.
• Own the FinHub Tools roadmap, building internal UIs, dashboards, and workflows to accelerate teams.
• Shape architectural decisions across distributed systems and streaming pipelines with high-quality design reviews.
• Collaborate with product, finance, and engineering leadership to define and execute quarterly roadmaps.
• Recruit exceptional engineers and own engineering quality processes including SLA accountability and on-call practices.
