Job summary

Coinbase is seeking an Internal Audit Senior Associate to execute risk-based audits across global operations and strengthen governance, controls, and risk management. You will partner with cross-functional teams to deliver insights, remediation validation, and regulator-ready documentation.

The role requires at least 5+ years in audit or risk, plus familiarity with AML/CFT and data analytics. Base in a regulated financial services environment with strong integrity and independence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in internal audit, external audit, compliance testing, or risk management within financial services.
• Ability to independently execute audits end-to-end with regulator-ready documentation.
• Working knowledge of AML/CFT, sanctions, and consumer protection requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple audit workstreams with co-sourced resources.
• Familiarity with data analytics techniques and AI tools with human oversight.
• Strong understanding of internal control environments in financial services.
• Experience in a regulated financial institution preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end operational and compliance audits, including scoping, risk assessments, control testing, and reporting.
• Own audit request tracking, open items, and testing status with updates to leadership and stakeholders.
• Identify control gaps via root cause analysis and draft risk-based recommendations.
• Lead audit reporting with concise, actionable write-ups for senior leadership and regulators.
• Validate remediation of prior findings by assessing evidence and closure sufficiency.
• Partner with Operations, Compliance, Risk, Finance, and Legal while maintaining independence.
