Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking an Internal Audit Senior Associate to execute risk-based audits across global operations within Finance.

You will partner with Operations, Compliance, Risk, Finance, and Legal teams to identify control gaps, drive practical recommendations, and validate remediation, strengthening governance and risk management. The role requires 5+ years in audit or risk, familiarity with AML/CFT and regulatory requirements, and experience delivering regulator-ready outputs for

Qualifications

• 5+ years in internal/external audit or risk management within financial services.
• Ability to execute end-to-end audits with regulator-ready documentation.
• Experience with AML/CFT, sanctions, and consumer protection requirements.
• Proven ability to manage multiple audit workstreams and deadlines.
• Familiarity with data analytics (SQL) and leveraging tech for audits.
• Understanding internal control environments in financial services.
• Experience in a regulated financial institution is preferred.
• Certified or pursuing CIA/CPA/CFE or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end operational and compliance audits, including scoping, preliminary risk assessments, control walkthroughs, fieldwork testing (design and operating effectiveness), and reporting
• Own audit request tracking, open item management, and testing status, delivering proactive and transparent updates to Internal Audit leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
• Identify control gaps by performing root cause analysis, evaluating exception severity, and drafting risk-based recommendations that drive measurable improvement
• Lead audit reporting by drafting result summaries and issue write-ups that are direct, concise, and actionable for senior leadership and regulators
• Validate remediation of prior audit findings by assessing implementation evidence and confirming sufficiency for closure
• Partner with Operations, Compliance, Risk, Finance, and Legal teams to build effective working relationships while maintaining third-line independence and objectivity
