Job summary

The Patrick J. McGovern Foundation seeks a seasoned Head of People Operations to lead employee relations, coaching, and talent acquisition for a fully remote U.S. workforce.

You will shape performance culture, drive learning initiatives, and ensure HR compliance across states while partnering with leadership to advance mission-driven priorities. Qualifications

• 10+ years in HR with focus on employee relations, manager development, or talent management.
• Experience in technical recruiting and team leadership preferred.
• Strong knowledge of multi-state employment law and benefits administration.

Responsibilities

• Lead employee relations as primary contact for questions, policy interpretation, and issue resolution.
• Design and run manager coaching curriculum across functions; reduce routine P&C dependency.
• Oversee full-cycle recruiting for technical and non-leadership roles; manage ATS and interview frameworks.
• Own annual and mid-year reviews, calibrations, and performance management improvements.
• Develop annual L&D calendar; design onboarding to accelerate time-to-contribution; manage facilitators.
• Oversee HR operations: onboarding, offboarding, verifications, and multi-state compliance for a remote workforce.
