Rythm Health is seeking a commercially-minded General Counsel to act as a strategic partner to the founders and leadership team, guiding growth while balancing opportunity, risk, and innovation. This is a high-impact role in a fast-moving consumer health startup.

You will lead CLIA, CAP, FDA, HIPAA, advertising, privacy, marketing, and regulatory compliance, while advising product, marketing, operations, and growth teams on legal considerations and business opportunities.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership.
• Experience advising high-growth consumer brands and healthcare or wellness sectors.
• Deep understanding of CLIA, CAP, HIPAA, FDA, marketing, and consumer protection regulations.
• Strong experience managing claims substantiation and regulatory review processes.
• Experience overseeing litigation, class actions, and outside counsel.
• Strong commercial contracting and negotiation experience.
• Ability to act as strategic business partner to founders and exec teams.
• Excellent judgment balancing legal risk with business goals.
• Comfort working autonomously in fast-paced environments.
• Experience serving as General Counsel or Associate General Counsel at a high-growth consumer brand.
• Experience supporting venture-backed startups through rapid growth.
• Prior top law firm experience.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the company's primary legal advisor across all areas of the business.
• Partner closely with founders and executive leadership on strategic initiatives and business decisions.
• Lead CLIA, CAP, FDA, HIPAA, advertising, privacy, marketing, and regulatory compliance efforts.
• Provide guidance on claims substantiation, consumer protection requirements, and risk management.
• Oversee litigation strategy, dispute resolution, and outside counsel relationships.
• Manage intellectual property, trademarks, licensing, and brand protection initiatives.
• Review and negotiate commercial agreements, vendor contracts, partnership agreements, and corporate transactions.
• Advise product, marketing, operations, and growth teams on legal considerations and business opportunities.
• Develop scalable legal processes, policies, and frameworks to support company growth.
• Balance speed, innovation, and risk in a fast-moving startup environment.
