Job summary

Modern Family Law in Austin, TX is seeking a Family Law Paralegal to work with our attorneys on divorce, child custody, property division and support matters. This role carries its own caseload, drafts the filings that move matters forward, and is often the client’s primary contact.

Remote-first environment with in-office needs as courts require, learning NetDocuments, Salesforce, TimeSolv, and Microsoft 365 quickly. Competitive base with potential bonuses and billable commissions.

Qualifications

• Family law experience required and ability to draft cleanly, meet deadlines, and communicate with upset clients.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication.
• Proficient in e-filing with major county court systems.
• Experience supporting multiple attorneys in a law firm setting.
• Accurate, contemporaneous narratives of billable work.

Responsibilities

• Carry a caseload of family law matters from hire through resolution alongside multiple attorneys.
• Draft and prepare filings: Petitions, Summons, Case Information Sheets, Notices and Entries of Appearance, and Motions to Withdraw; e-file and track status.
• Own deadlines; manage calendars and filing dates to ensure timeliness.
• Talk to clients, answer questions, and follow up proactively with empathy.
• Keep matters organized and current so any file can be picked up and understood by others.
• Collaborate with attorneys as a proactive partner.
