Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a backend-focused engineer to drive money-movement features using stablecoins and APIs. You will design and deploy scalable backend systems, partnering with product and compliance teams while improving reliability and performance across distributed services.

You will work with Go/Java, AWS/GCP, and blockchain tech to deliver secure, high-impact payments infrastructure for Coinbase and partners.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software engineering experience building and operating backend systems.
• Proficiency in Go and/or Java with cloud experience (AWS or GCP).
• Experience designing distributed systems and APIs with end-to-end ownership.
• Knowledge of blockchain/crypto tech such as stablecoins or on-chain payments.

Responsibilities

• Own key projects end-to-end as the Directly Responsible Individual for money-movement features.
• Build backend systems and APIs enabling stablecoin-based payments and transfers.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Infrastructure, and Compliance on scalable solutions.
• Improve performance, scalability, and reliability of distributed systems.
• Contribute to engineering quality via code reviews and architecture patterns.
