Job summary

Coinbase is a remote-first company with quarterly in-person surges. Join the Money Movement team to design and build backend systems powering stablecoin-based pay-ins, payouts, deposits, and withdrawals across the Coinbase ecosystem.

You will own key projects end-to-end as the DRI, partnering with Product, Design, Infrastructure, and Compliance to deliver robust, scalable solutions while maintaining security and regulatory alignment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software engineering experience building and operating backend systems.
• Proficiency in backend languages (Go, Java) and cloud infra (AWS, GCP).
• Experience as DRI for technical projects and delivering end-to-end solutions.
• Experience with blockchain/crypto tech such as stablecoins, on-chain payments, or smart contracts.

Responsibilities

• Own key projects end-to-end as the Directly Responsible Individual, driving stablecoin-based money movement features from design to production.
• Build backend systems, infrastructure, and APIs enabling payments into products.
• Partner with Product, Design, Infrastructure, and Compliance to balance speed, security and regulatory needs.
• Drive performance, scalability, and reliability improvements across distributed systems.
• Contribute to engineering quality through code reviews and architectural patterns.
