Job summary

82i is Building a new kind of finance firm designed to accelerate people into leadership roles. This role centers on owning the month-end close, building scalable processes, and mentoring staff as you grow toward Controller or CFO paths.

You will work directly under an Accounting+ Lead Controller, gaining hands-on mentorship, client exposure, and leadership experience to advance into a Controller role while helping multi‑entity clients achieve reliable, decision-ready financial data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Has led a month-end close process end-to-end.
• Experience reviewing and developing accounting staff.
• CPA preferred; active pursuit strongly valued.
• Proficiency with accounting systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close, including review of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Maintain the general ledger across entities.
• Manage AP, AR, payroll, and other core accounting functions.
• Own cash flow visibility and support treasury management.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and develop client-specific accounting policies.
• Design, implement, and document internal controls.
• Lead audit preparation and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Perform technical accounting research and document conclusions.
