Job summary

Cisco is seeking a FinOps professional to lead AWS Savings Plan analysis and cost optimization for Splunk Cloud FinOps. This remote role supports multiple cloud platforms and partners with engineering, finance, and product teams to turn spend data into actionable insights.

You will build forecasts, dashboards, and reports to communicate spending trends, savings opportunities, and risks, with a focus on improving commitment coverage while balancing utilization and overcommitment risk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in FinOps, cloud financial management, or enterprise cloud cost management, including hands‑on AWS cost management.
• Hands‑on experience analyzing AWS Reservations and Savings Plans, including purchase sizing, coverage, utilization, and overcommitment risk.
• Hands on experience building cloud forecasts, budgets, cost models, dashboards, and analyses using advanced Excel or Google Sheets capabilities, including pivot tables and complex formulas.
• Ability to obtain a FinOps Certified Practitioner or FinOps Certified Professional credential within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead the analysis and execution of AWS Savings Plan purchases to improve commitment coverage while managing utilization and overcommitment risk.
• Translate public cloud and AI token-based spend into financial insights that support Splunk Cloud gross margin.
• Drive cost optimization across AWS, Azure, and GCP by partnering with engineering, finance, architecture, and product teams.
• Build forecasts, dashboards, and executive-ready reporting that make spending trends, savings, and risks clear and actionable.
• Measure success through sustained improvement in Savings Plan coverage, sound commitment decisions, and realized cost efficiencies while operating as an individual contributor with no direct reports.
