Job summary

Paired is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to own the entire finance function, delivering accurate bookkeeping, monthly reporting, and strategic financial analysis. You’ll build visibility across offers and marketing channels and guide the founder with CFO-level judgment.

Responsibilities include closing the books, maintaining COA, forecasting, and providing actionable profitability insights across countries and entities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of finance experience with roles including Controller, Finance Manager, or Head of Finance.
• Hands-on experience with US accounting and US-entity financials; Puerto Rico or multi-entity experience is a plus.
• Experience in a business where marketing spend is a major expense, ideally in e-commerce, DTC, SaaS, agencies, or digital products.
• Strong financial modeling, spreadsheet, and accounting software skills.
• Ability to translate financial data into clear insights and actionable business recommendations.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with strong EST time zone overlap.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly financial close and ensure accurate, timely financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow).
• Clean up and maintain the chart of accounts and oversee external accountants, tax preparers, and bookkeeping support.
• Build financial reporting for contribution margins, marketing efficiency, payroll costs, cash runway, and profitability by offer and channel.
• Develop rolling cash forecasts, budgets, and financial models to support business decisions.
• Provide monthly written insights and actionable recommendations on profitability, spending, hiring, and growth investments.
• Identify and reduce unnecessary vendor and software expenses.
• Establish financial controls, payment approval processes, and documented workflows.
• Oversee contractor and international payroll processes across multiple countries.
